About:
Victor Talamantes (who also plays keys/guitar/vocals in The Bellakun) created Egon in El Paso, TX, in 1996. In the past 8 years, Egon has released 4 CDs, 1 EP, and 2 split 7”s. Egon has toured Japan once and the US too many times to count. With the release of their newest album “All Theory and No Action” and another US tour, Egon shows no signs of discontinuing the cycle.
“All Theory and No Action” showcases the band’s
ability to evolve. Taking keyboard-laden cues from 2002’s “Phonetic
Disasters”, Egon continues to the push the boundaries of conventional
songwriting with a progressive style that is uniquely their own. The
use of dark, gentle melodies works to create a soundscape that engulfs
the listener. As one reviewer accurately stated “…it’s
all over before you notice just how many different grooves [Egon] has
tackled, and the only choice is to go back and listen a little more
carefully.”
